All our silver jewelries are made of 925 Sterling Silver and in some pieces a combination between 925 Sterling Silver and 850 Silver or 925 Sterling Silver and 999 Silver. Silver is a precious metal and as most metals, it tarnishes over time. The tarnish will appear as a discoloration at first that eventually will turn into black. How long will this process take be is not accurate and it depends on various factors.

Your Bélesi piece of jewelry can last a long time if looked after and handled with care. Here are some general care instructions for your jewelry to preserve their original good condition and delay them from tarnish.

When getting ready, put your jewelry on last, after applying materials like make-up, sunscreen, perfume, hairspray, deodorant, and lotions. All the above mentioned may cause your jewelry to lose its shine and to start the tarnishing procedure.
Do not wear your jewelry at the beach or pool to avoid exposure to harsh chemicals. It’s best to keep your jewelry as dry as possible. We also recommend you remove your jewelry when washing your hands or applying hand sanitizer.
Remove your jewelry during physical activities because sweat may strongly affect them. Sometimes even your natural skin PH* may oxidize silver metals.
Avoid direct contact with acetone, detergents, or other chemicals.
Avoid leaving your jewelry under direct sunlight.
Remove your jewelry before sleeping. The constant movement when sleeping can entangle necklaces or chains and may even damage them.
Do not store your jewelry in the bathroom or any humid spot.
Store your jewelry by placing them in a plastic zip lock bag or in a protective jewelry box. The less air encounters your silver, the longer it will take before tarnishing. PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR BOXES AND POUCHES ARE NOT MADE FOR LONG-TERM STORAGE AS THEY ARE NOT AIRTIGHT.
Make sure to store the jewelry separately as to avoid chains or necklaces getting tangled and fragile pieces colliding with each other.

For cleaning, general maintenance or removing mild tarnishing marks you can use a cleaning cloth, such as microfiber, so that the surface might not be scratched by other rough materials. You can also combine with silver tarnish removal products, such as SILVO or dip it in HAGERTY SILVER BATH, for heavier tarnishing. Once the tarnish has been removed, rinse the silver item in water, wash your hands thoroughly and dry the items well.

If having in mind the above instructions, your jewelry will retain their beautiful look for the maximum of time.

Repairs & re-plating

Our after-sales services include re-plating, cleaning, polishing, repair, and replacement in case of loss. All repairs are assessed on an individual basis. A fee may occur for reasons such as user error, missing parts, or products that cannot be repaired and need to be rebuilt.

We only accept repairs for items purchased directly from us.

Repairs may take between 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the extent of the work. Please email us at georgina@belesi.com. After we receive and examine the specific piece, we proceed with its repair only after the customer’s confirmation.

Once the repair has been completed and the final quality control checks have been carried out, your jewelry is then returned to you. Please note that the shipping fees for the products belongs to the sender.

All our gold, rose gold or black rhodium silver jewelry are plated, which is a method that deposits a thin layer of extra metal onto the surface of the silver metal, with the method of electrolysis. The method of plating is a secure way to maintain the color and beauty of your jewelries, BUT because of the chemical structure of silver, the plated surface will eventually come off, revealing its true color. If you take good care of your jewelry, you can delay this process, although it cannot be prevented. However, we can clean and re-plate your jewelry to make it vibrant and attractive again.
